So last year I started a lot of seedlings especially peppers and tomatoes with great success. This year my results have been a little more uneven. I was trying to remember what I did differently. One thing is my growing medium. Last year I had an old bag of potting soil - because it wasn't fresh or seed starting mix I went through a rather elaborate process of steam heating it up in batches. Then I planted everything up into Pro mix.

This year I grabbed a bag of MG and then more recently Jiffy seed starter. Not impressed with the MG. It seems heavy and I have some burned leaves. I just used the Jiffy today - which has a better texture.

What do you all recommend?
