Our house is all white stucco on the outside and this is a bit dull. Inside it is contemporary with walnut and we also have a nice ipé deck on the back. For the facade, I am considering attaching some horizontal wood to the stucco.

I hear it is important to leave a gap for humidity to go behind the wall, leaving a distance between the stucco and the wood.

I am looking for technical information on how to do to this and some pictures would help. Most of the photos I see, it seems the wood was put during renovation, in this case it it is an after the fact addition
