Where is this located, John? Are you in the UK? If so the green stem looks like Jasminum officinale and the other could possibly be Fallopia baldschuanica but the leaves are not clearly visible so I'm not at all certain. If you could show some unwilted leaves it would help. Both would have been planted deliberately. You seem to have an Ash sapling and some Pyracantha in there too. Quite a challenge.

If I have misguessed the location all bets are off.

Hi Floral, Thanks for your response - Yes I live in the UK (North Manchester way) I will try and get some photos of unwilted leaves and post them tomorrow morning. Is there any possibility it could be Japanese knotweed?

No, absolutely no JK in any of your pictures. JK isn't a climber. But Fallopia baldschuanica is in the same family.
