Philips Cool Daylight LED as Grow Lights?

Hi guys!

Am growing succulents in an apartment and I know it will be tough giving them the right light levels to maintain their health and compactness.

I am aware of T5s and specialised grow lights, but would like to use a desk lamp that can double as a work lamp. What do you guys think about the Philips Cool Daylight 6500K LED bulbs? Some forumers suggested the cool end of the spectrum would work best. Would these work as grow lights?

I would use the 6500k 23w CFL over that led.

The cheap chain store bought leds just aren't up to par with the CFL's yet.

Alisa,

You want a fixture with a reflector; so the majority of the light is being directed towards your plants. Only about 10% of the light coming off the bulbs you're looking at; will actually be directly reaching your succulents (which need a lot of light).
