Looking for granite suggestions

These are the cabinets we will be installing and our flooring color is similar to the one in photos. Looking for a light, flowy granite that's not too busy. Backsplash is not decided yet so flexible there as well. Thank you in advance!!

dasha, that white one you asked about looks like Super White. It's labeled as a quartzite but it's a dolomite, first cousin to marble. I have it in my bathroom. it's a beautiful stone. Some etch/stain less than others. you will have to look at the entire slab. other whites are Colonial white, Alaska White, white river or White Ice or do a quartz that looks like marble. Zodiaq, Cambria, all have some good ones.

this is Delicatus White granite. has more brown tones which might look better w/your cabs and floors

London White

,,,as you can see, there are many, many different ones. best way is to go to a slab yard w/samples of your cabs and flooring. wait till after install to choose a splash.

River White less busy.

even some granites you have to use care when putting down hot pans. it's best to use trivets.

Really like this one but not sure what type it is and also wondering if it's too grey.

I like the cabinets you guys will be installing. However, I don't think the floor matches the tone of your kitchen. I would insert clear tiles on your floor to make your kitchen stand out.

I think that's really pretty. Would be easy to keep the room light with a white or pale gray backsplash.

You can't really do this shopping by photo, especially if shopping for natural stone rather than a (manmade) quartz -- even stone with the same name can look radically different in different lots, and what matters is what your local stone yards carry. Find a stone yard or a kitchen store that can give you samples of real granites to take home and hold up to your other finishes, and then go back again to look at big slabs, to be sure you like how that stone looks in larger stretches.

You must look at the entire slab before buying, don't order from a sample alone.

I would use a light green granite for the counters and also use the same slab over the sink. For the rest use stainless steel tile, green glass tile or bronze tinted mirror. The reason for slab over sink is that walls needs a rich focal point.

the green granite is beautiful! but would be way out of my comfort zone. I love the green glass tile.

Are you only open to granite? While beautiful...granite tends to be on the busier side. To get the "flowy" look you desire you might have better luck with quartz or quartzite...

kjoy, I would prefer granite because of its higher resistance to heat (I constantly put pots/pans directly onto our current granite and love the no hassle care). But I am open to quartz because it's BEAUTIFUL! I love that it's less busy and would work so well with dark cabinets.

The kitchen would have looked much better if all the cabinet tops had been the same height.

Beth - Thank you for the suggestions!! I do love the delicatus, it's gorgeous! It seems a bit busy but you're right, my best bet is to go and find a slap that I like. Or pick from a quartz that may work.

The photos in my original post are not my kitchen, it's the cabinet company's showroom that they just started putting together.

Pat - I don't know the actress, but I will take it as a compliment. :)

that delicatus granite name could also be the same as Alaska White. found these other pics. wide variety in the veining. this is why it's so important to pick out your slab in person. Imagine if you ordered the slab based on a small sample of the above pic and then they showed up w/this one below! It's still beautiful, just different.
