I agree with both previous posters. What about a crackle or wavy sea blue glass lamp that is large in volume? I've seen something like that in pottery barn.

I would go for a heaver base lamp. Your bed is the main focal point and is bold. With the spindles on your bed, try adding table lamps that have the same impact with spindles!

Yes, Rebecca is right. Also, you might want to watch the height of the lamps because who needs light shining right in their eyes while they're laying in bed!

I really have no idea, but I wanted to tell you how lovely the room is! the sunlight pouring in and the colors you chose..it's all so very nice. and I am curious about the painting over the bed, I can't quite see enough to tell the artist?

Nice room and gorgeous bed. Lamps suggestions you've had enough, but I couldn't help noticing the curtains. You need a thicker rod, a bit hither up. Either just in between windows and ceiling or just under the ceiling. Your curtains will be too short then, but if you can sew, you can sew a contrasting fabric at the bottom of the curtains. Something with blue/brown in it?
And I think it would be nice if you had a curtain panel between the two windows too.

If you're both serious readers, consider wall-hung lamps (in the finish of your choice) that can be adjusted for position and intensity of light. Seems RARE anymore to find homes where there's good reading light! The wall-hungs are simple in design and go with anything. Also more modern options with halogen lights, some have a goose-neck which allows adjustment to one's needs. There are also floor models with those features. Since I can't tell the height of your nightstands, if you do get table lamps make sure they're tall enough for reading. The posters are quite decorative already; I'd want lamps that wouldn't fight for center stage.

@mousemaker thank you. I have attached pics of the painting. I purchased this painting 10 or so years ago. Then I had it stretched and framed. The painters signature is on the bottom of the painting.
