I like the cabinets in white. If you don't like the white, i would paint or stain the cabinets more of a cherry colour. The counter tops will really pop when you take the specs of red from the counter. I think you need to either go darker or keep with the white.

The cabinets were painted Alabaster by sherwin williams. I've since changed out the hardware to restoration hardware gilmore bin pulls in polished nickel or chrome with chrome/nickel knobs. I haven't gotten new appliances yet...They are in the plans. I'm thinking the white ice whirlpool line. I'm just not sure about stainless steel...anyone have an opinion on appliances? Good brands? I was thinking also of a bosch diswasher because I heard they're very quiet. I would also like to remove the floor tile and continue the hardwood that's on the rest of the first floor. Just trying to save up enough to do all this.

It's only a month old, but I really like my Bosch dishwasher for the reason you mentioned....quieter than most! SS appliances would look nice in your kitchen, but only if you like that look.

I think hardwood will warm up the space and look great. I vote for SS appliances for a more up to date look. Great improvements!

I agree with Laurae.I wouldn't change the cabinets until you see the hardwood floors put in.They will warm the space.

I love the white countertops. It really makes the granite stand out.

What is the name of your granite?

Sorry, I don't know because I didn't select the granite it was purchased by the previous homeowners. I just had to try to work with it.
