So the painters just finished painting my built in blue and I'm trying to find accessories that work. I started "shopping" within my own home, gathering things that seemed to work size wise and color wise.

I've been searching Houzz for design ideas and I noticed that people are hanging artwork across the outside of bookshelves, so I decided to try it.

Does the painting in the center work? Is it ok that it it leaning on the shelf instead of being hung? If I hang it, the lighting won't work, because the frame will cast a shadow?
