very cool - color break/mutation/virus.... no idea - wonder if it will repeat next year... I have hibiscus that randomly get color breaks patches of different color than usual on the flowers.

Yes, this is definitely Gervase. The fact that it was entirely red is possible but I've never seen one totally red but of course I'm sure it's possible. A very lovely and unique variety, enjoy it and it will be different each year!

Google it and you will see all the different patterns of color. You can safely label it Gervase!!

And, as Haweha also mentions above this is a chimera which you can Google also if you need to.

Also, White Flower Farms sells this same variety under the name Fantasy. Both Gervase and Fantasy are the same bulb and Gervase is the correct name.
