Brown shingles are thankfully easy to contrast with other colors. We suggest choosing medium or dark blue siding and white trim / columns / railings.

Thank you for the quick response! I was leaning toward dark blue as well. The last house we did dark grey and we loved how it turned out.

You do have quite a project to tackle, but I can see the potential charm. What color is the roof? I can see a pale blue, soft yellow or sage green siding color as a few possibilities. Any color you choose would be nice with white trim.

Thanks Chloebud! I saw a very pretty soft buttery-yellow house with the same shingle the other day but worried about limiting my potential buyers. It will likely be a first time buyer, (young couple or family) in this area. It is an area that is seeing lots of new renovations and updating of older homes. I wanted to keep it looking current and fun...I would have preferred a grey roof but need to work with what I have. I thought

This is the colour of the shingle-definitely not what I would choose.

I could see a sage green siding with that roof. Great with white trim.

Just thinking since the roof is a warm tone, maybe stay away from colors that are very cool.

I was thinking something like this colour combination. The shingles are actually darker brown than I originally posted. The trim will all be replaced/painted. The porch skirting and columns will also be replaced.
