Insect ID on Japanese Yew

Hello,

Our Japanese Yew has these blue/purple insects attached to some of the top most leaves. I can't seem to figure out what they are. Any ideas? They move a bit when touched. If it helps, there also seems to be small ants in the vicinity of these bugs. Thanks!

These pictures may help. I put a leaf in my kids microscope and was able to take some pictures through the lens with my phone.

They look like mealybugs or a close relative. Hope someone can assist you with a proper ID.

I'm impressed that you were able to get a photo like that! (I gotta try it!)

May be woolly aphids, but I like the mealybug ID better.
