How well does it clean?

Is the surface smooth and easy to wipe down? Looking for modern/minimalist but need to be realistic as I have 3 young and very messy children. We need a table that has ho cracks that food will get stuck in and that is easy to clean and will hold up well with multiple cleanings each day.
