Hyn, did you get a chance to view the clip. One of the man collection has plant with this type of graft. He advised that not all species caudex gone to swell. Also, the way they cut the stems are incredible.

Hun. The purpose is the let the grafted seedlings on the stems grow faster I think.

I didn't post this because I'm interested in it. But there were a few who wondered about grafting entire plants with caudex onto existing branches just to see how it would look and develop. So when I saw this, I wanted to post it for them. ;)
