Kitchen Backsplash

Hi,
I need some suggestions on backsplash ideas for my kitchen, I have stainless appliances and grayish-black speckled granite counter top. I want to brighten the kitchen without using a lot of color, but have some classy sparkle. Any suggestions?
Note: Its a relatively small kitchen for a condo..

    First take down the 3" bit of back splash. Then go to tile store and bring home some samples to see them in "your" kitchen, lighting etc. Don't tile the side wall, just the back wall. Here are more pics to give you an idea as to what to look for.

    I do like the idea of white with a little grey tone.
