Looks as tho it may be one seriously gorgeous rose.I added a picture of this spring's "Abe" to my post 'more zone 9 first blooms'. He is being a rich apricot blend. Keep us posted on Charlene's growth habit. TIA

Here's a couple I cut off my bush from the same nursery!! Love her but the scent isn't that great to me. My nose can be finicky sometimes.

So beautiful!!! I received a large own root from Edmunds but it is just leafing out. How would you describe the fragrance and intensity of the fragrance?

I know April likes the fragrance more than me but my hubby says it smells like tea. Is tea a scent of roses? To my nose it's not real strong but others might have a better sniffer!! Judy

I think it smells great. It was more intense outside than when brought in. Not sure what to compare it to but I def didn't detect tea at all lol

Gorgeous April. Mine got wind whipped in the storm we had recently so I had to prune about a foot or two off since they were broken canes. I won't have blooms for a while. I also decided to move them to a spot where they would get a little less radiant heat since I was pruning them down a bit anyway. Mine seem to be water hogs. Have you noticed that?

Cori Ann that's so aggravating!! The wind has been bad here too. No, I haven't noticed the water issue but it's been raining steadily here since I planted them.

Cori Ann, I had the same thing happen to me. Had to prune off some stems that had buds on them =/ because of the wind/rain/hail.

I'm also noticing powdery mildew on the leaves now because of this weird weather. I still have it in a pot though so that may be one of the reasons it's not doing so well, and yes mine is definitely a water hog!

That's a bummer CC but ours will catch up. No powdery mildew here.... but definitely needs a lot of water! Even with all the rain.

That's gorgeous!!!! In the shots where it didn't look exactly like Abe...I thought that CdM looked even prettier than Abe!!! Wow!

Very beautiful! I was a bit tardy getting mine into the ground, so no blooms yet. I am sorry to hear she's a water hog. I hope she won't get as big as Abe D.

I am loving Violets Pride. She puts out gorgeous clusters of blooms. Lisa

She's def a beauty. Full of gorgeous ruffles! I haven't noticed any special need of water here. I don't think she will get as big as Abe but sure hope she blooms as well!!

My VP is finally getting some growth after cane dieback. Hoping she has a good year.
