Question On Installing Kohler Archer Drop In Tub

last modified: 9 years ago

Hi-

I am "refreshing" a small master bath with alcove tub/shower area. The old vanity is not in good shape, and I would like a deeper tub. Of course everything will need to be torn out and re-done. I will hire a contractor for the entire job.

I "sat" in a Kohler Archer Drop In Tub - very comfortable. As I said, the tub area is an "alcove" BUT it has a six inch ledge on the back wall, and a 12" "bench" at the end of the tub so there is room for a drop in. I will keep the shower over the tub and will have a Corian/solid surface on the deck of the tub. The shower will not be used as I have another bathroom if I need to shower - I hate the sight of mildew. My biggest concern is since the tub is acrylic how do I know for sure it is installed correctly before all the tile, etc. goes up? The current tub is porcelain over steel.

Anyone have issues with Kohler Archer or it's installation?

Thank you

Nancy
