Good possibility! There are several nice white ones. I have 'Compinkie' which is a really pretty--I think!--pink one. Only possible problem is that the stems tend to get long and leggy after a couple years, and once they do they can be really hard to cut back again without killing them! If you go for it I recommend cutting them back pretty severely after they finish blooming, as far as you can without cutting off ALL of the foliage. If you'd consider another color there are some really nice Aubretias in pink, reddish, and lavender/purple too. Look identical to Arabis, but don't come in white--and have the same "leggy" problem. [I've been trying to think of a "replacement" for you since I got your email, but I'm still getting over the flu and my brain just isn't happy needing to work right now!]

I'd recommend trying one or two Arabis for at least a couple years before you decide to get a bunch of them! (They could also be winter sown from seed to help save money! That way you could get a bunch of them next spring and if you decide they're not working at least they wouldn't have cost much!)

Going to do that. Half candytuft and half rock cress. I can either leave it like that or phase out the one I don't like. I pictured you saying don't do it! You'll have to go pull it all up (just pulled up the yarrow last night).

No "invasive" problem at all with either Arabis or Aubretia. The plants will definitely get "bigger," especially if they're not cut back pretty severely each year, but the "problem" comes from the "look" of the plant after a few years! When it's blooming, even if it's "leggy," it'll be real pretty because it'll be COVERED with flowers, but when it finishes and all you're seeing is the foliage, that's when it won't be so pretty unless it gets cut back, and since it blooms early you wind up looking at a "not so pretty" plant the rest of the summer! If you only view the area from a distance, it really wouldn't be visible, but if you get Up Close And Personal like I do, that's when you'd notice it.

If you're ever looking more, one to AVOID is Snow-in-summer, Cerastium! That one IS invasive for some people (depending on conditions), and it also has the long and leggy bare look after a few years. Arabis is a way, way better choice!
