Morning! Lisa I've tried to PM you a couple times with no luck, I need your address. I will bring something for the dessert table.

I just thought to check for swaps, so I'm a bit late to the party. If interested, I can easily bring star of Bethlehem, pink spiderwort, variagated Solomon's seal, liverwort, smooth penstemon seedlings (which survived last winter in pots!), pink bleeding hearts, a mayapple or two, so much Lily of the valley, and vinca.

I'm interested in blue or purple asters, lupines, tall blue larkspur, bellflowers, fireweed, blazingstars, cardinal flower, royal catchfly, ironweed, and most especially black Huckleberry (gaylussacia baccata).

How do I get the address for Saturday?

I am trying hard to get my act together for Sat. My body is rebelling. Worst case like I said I am send Aaron with at least 20 tomato plants. And will take what ever ya'll want to send him home with . What is food situation? Should I be thinking of a dish ?

Oh, I can also bring oak leaf hydrangea.

Hi Lisa, confirming for Saturday. Me and my wife Polly will be there. We will bring Fran's favorite: mini bagels with cheese, and I will also make and bring Indian Lentil Soup (with garlic, ginger, red onions, and jalapeno).

We are relatively new gardeners so we don't have many outdoor plants to offer unfortunately, except for really small Kousa dogwood seedlings. However I have spider plant babies (indoor air purifiers) potted up if anyone wants them? We can take any leftovers/un wanted plants that anyone may have at the end of the swap.

we made the French soup last night (it's in the fridge waiting to be heated) and if we get around to it we will bring mom's famous scones orange/cranberry, strawberry and cream and almond blueberry are top of the list!

I've currently got star of bethelem, smooth penstemon, magenta spiderwort, and some oak leaf hydrangia ready for tomorrow.

I'm not going to bother with the lily of the valley, vinca, mayapples, or common pink bleeding heart unless someone actually wants some of those.

I'll see about potting up some variagated solomon's seal and some liverwort later today.

Life is Very unfair. I wanted so very much to be with you today. But I can not. I am back in the ER for my migraines. I do still need a home for all these plants. And I still covet all your plants. Maybe some day the odds WILL be in my favor. Please forgive me. Shell

I;m still nibbling the scones! Thank you everyone for wheelbarrow full of columbine seedlings, bloodroot and a two armfuls of various geraniums. And these don't cover it all.

Chai, ( I am sorry if I misspell your name ) those were Weston azaleas you got from me a couple of years ago. Yellow one was lollipop and the orangeish one was Mandarin Lights. The maple was Seryiu. It will get 10-15 feet tall but keep its delicate outline. I knew I'd remember eventually.

Lisa your gardens are lovely. I know you worked hard and late to make everything even more beautiful for us. I really appreciated the effort you made to welcome and feed us. Thank you!

... something ate my newly planted Campanula persifolia. I suspect a raccoon that has also been uprooting the kale and otherwise being annoying. I'm sad, because that was a pretty plant an about to bloom! :(

I think you're talking about the viola striata I brought. They're pretty and carefree, but they'll seed themselves everywhere. they make a nice ground cover in the woods. By the way, Lisa, the perennial foxglove I got from you last year is really beautiful this year. I love the color. Does it mind being divided?

Ok, bought some raccoon repellant (one that makes their nose hurt when they get too close - capcacian-based, and one of coyote urine). We'll see if this makes them stop attacking my newly planted things!

when I came home from the swap I found the stupid rabbits had eaten the flower and buds of the salmon columbine you gave me last year, Lisa. I was so upset! I doused the ground with rabbit repellent and with a respite from rabbits it has already sprouted a nice new leaf.

Between heat, work and rain I haven't had a minute to get the new plants into the ground.

I have been planting a couple of things each day since the swap. No, I didn't swap that many but I have made a couple of trips to Mahoneys and bought a down or so new planta. I'm down to just a fee left to plant now.

Those damn bunnies will get you every time. I bought and planted a new grass they ate it down to a nub overnight!,

Natalie, it was your viola. Thank you for the id. I like to tag everything. I'm not sure but I think I have a few reseeds of the poppy out there. I lost the mother plant but comparing the foliage to the one you brought me, I think I have babies.

It does reseed itself easily. I now have quite a few, so let me know if you want more.

All, great deal alert. I just purchased large (1 gallon, I think) knock out rose bushes for $5/each from the Stop and Shop in Reading. They have atleast 10 more left, and a ton of perennials for sale for $2 to $3 (Gaura, coreopsis, etc). Not sure if I should plant the rose bushes in the ground now, as the Asian Garden Beetles will come soon (July 1st usually)? Thanks

For some reason my first post , moments after you asked,was deleted. It was something like "....just finished planting the last of the ones from the spring swap, the generanium moly. Not a square inch left except for ground covers. I might have some shrubs to dig up here....

But I enjoyed meeting people and it would be fun to see you all again.

diedre, I'll text you after I post this. Gata, I'm willing to head up to NH if someone is willing to host. However, I would think that if thymetodig was free to host, she would have posted by now. I I'm finally getting into my garden a bit for pretty much the whole season but I'm willing to host if people will overlook my mess this year. I'm doing a bit of rearranging and have plants tht need new homes. I'm pretty much free every weekend for the month of September.

Oh and if people just want to come and chat, that's fine too...

The swap is set for next Saturday for anyone that attended in the past and hasn't checked in to see about a local plant swap..

Was new thread begun just so we can all confirm the date time what happens? Just easier for new comers I think with a fresh welcome and information. I'm not new, but I'd rather not rely on a two year old post.

Hi, just got a notification on this post. Is there a plant swap this year? I have plants that may be too common for everyone here:

Yellow firecracker

Kousa dogwood seedlings (few inches tall)

Arborvitae seedlings (A foot tall)

Some kindda silverish/greyish ground cover that spreads and grows tall (I think they are Artemisia stelleriana, have tons of them)

A 5 year old Meyer lemon plant (indoors in winter with lots of light)

I haven't been on this forum for years but I'd love to come. Years ago we had acreage and I had gardens everywhere but after downsizing 5 yrs ago, we have a postage stamp....mostly shade. I wish we hadn't downsized quite so much on the land but then again it's my guys fault because his workshop is taking up valuable sun garden space! :) I've had 6 foot/leg surgeries the last 4 yrs so gardening hasn't been on my radar much and I'm still at the point of buying/changing out/filling in the garden so I'm afraid I don't have any plants to contribute unfortunately. Given my propensity for overbuying though, as we all do, THAT should change in the next several years!
