We install a lot of Saturnia. We've had some big issues while cutting and polishing it, but never once installed. What edge did you choose? Did you pick a very ornate edge? That might be part of the problem. They may have received a slab that was compromised in some way. If they are offering to replace it with the same thing, then let them. They probably won't make the same mistake twice.

I live in the NJ area and looking at Fuda Tile for my Saturnia granite. Sometime in July I was told the sq. ft. was at $100, we went back this past weekend and it is now at $60. Back in July the sample looked new, however this time around it looked cracked. The woman said it had fallen several times..but none of the other samples had this issue. We really liked this one but I am concerned about the durability of this stone. Any advice is appreciated.

If you are referring to the Saturnia Granite, it is a durable stone. However, before it is installed, it is a more brittle stone like many other exotics. With a stone like this, you must work with a fabricator who has experience working with this. I wouldn't trust a company that sells Saturnia at $60 a square. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Sorry haven't been on in a while... I kept the Saturnia granite at a considerable discount. The fabricator basically wouldn't guarantee Not Damaging my cabinets or newly installed flooring taking it out... I was stressed with an impending event and couldn't deal with redoing everything... I had no confidence in them. Now almost two years later i still love it and haven't had any problems ... There is a part that they glued the edge that must of chipped when doing the edge but no one notices but me :(
