Layout question about bath remodel

I have added 2 of my elementary drawings of the master bath layout.

As you enter the new bathroom you will see the shower and a tall cabinet/hutch on the back wall. The double vanity will be on the left and the WC and bathtub will be on the right.

My question is: I was thinking the shower would be a rectangle, but my designer thinks we should cut the corner and make the shower door be on an angle. She thinks that if the shower is a full rectangle it will be too prominent visually when you enter the bathroom, and will take away from the pretty cabinet/hutch we are building next to it on that back wall. In the end she will do what I want, but I don't want to make a mistake. She also wants to reduce the shower to 5 or 5.5' instead of 6', but I am not inclined to do that.

Opinions?

If you need assistance because you collapsed the emergency personal can not open the door if your body is blocking it. Shower doors need to be able to swing out by code in my state for that reason as well. All exterior doors need to open into the house so that snow can not inhibit your exit either.

Your designer should provide you with 3d drawings of both options so you can choose which you prefer.

Are these plans a done-deal or are you just getting started? If you can still consider other designs, please create a new thread with your existing layout and your requirements.

I like the shape of your flow in the second option - nice to have the sketches for both. Since you'll have a pretty cabinet, that takes the eye all the way around the room. I'd love to see pics as you go.

My contractor recommended doing the same in our similarly long, narrow
master bath but I am still working on visualizing that. We don't have as
much room as our shower space is already slightly under 60" and I don't think the neo angle corner gives us as much benefit unless we get into a tight spot meeting door clearances with the tub placement.

Where will the shower heads and valves be placed?

M Gabriel, if you can place the control valves on the wall by the toilet you will not need to get in the shower to turn it on. As you have it now you have to enter the shower to put it on.

OP here. We've lived here for 17 years and the WC door has always swung inward. It never occurred to me that this is unsafe. This is a remodel, not a new build. I will ask the contractor to switch it. Is that easy?

The other part of my original question had to do with the size of the shower. Should I shave 6" off the length (make it 5'6" instead of 6')? Or leave it 6'. Clipped corner is okay with me. Designer wants a few extra inches for the cabinet/hutch since it will be a focal point, but I want a big big shower. Does 6" matter? Clipped corner will steal some room, so I don't want to shave off too much.

i think I read that 3x5 was the standard shower size that works with most people's sizes and anything after that is gravy. I like 5.5 or 6 because it allows me to step out of the stream of water at times easily but larger than 4 x 6 felt drafty to me in a former house. I would maybe compromise with 5.5 it can still fit two in a pinch and plenty big for one.
