The floor turned out beautiful considering before the renovation it was tile on top of slab. When the tile was removed the floor was in really bad shape. But a wonderful contractor sanded and sanded the floor to the best that he could. There are a lot of area's that were questionable and several pits in the concrete prior to staining. This only enhanced the outcome by giving the floor a wonderful gradation. The goal was to have the floor look like water and I believe we achieved that objective well. The stain color is turquoise with several clear coats on top.

Would the clear coats make this floor slippery if it were outside?

This was actually carried on out to the patio outside as well. The clear coat did not make the concrete slippery outside. It did repeal water initially. This project is in Nashville and the amazing work was done by John Stroud of Uniq-Crete. He does fabulous work!

how long did it take for the floor?

The floor prior to staining the concrete was tile. So it took about a week for the tile to be removed the floor to be sanded, cleaned up and stained and sealed. The imperfections of the concrete only added to the depth overall.
