Bathroom Update/Reveal

I think I am about 90% finished! thank you all for your help, We really love it and could not have done it with out the feedback from you all, and Roarah's visuals!

We moved in to this house about 5 months ago and within 2 months the shower was leaking and dripping in to the kitchen. that moved the bathroom remodel up the list!

I still have shower curb, glass doors, towel hooks, and plants on the to do list. We went for a shower curb last weekend and still have not heard back on a price. :(

    Fab!!!!!!

(These listing pics threw me off I must say..too wide-lens or something. doesn't give you proper feel of the space. I hated ours when we listed, but was too shy to speak up)

I'm really excited to see how it turned out. Just wonderful. Hooray and congrats!

Way to go, Boop! It looks so good, and the lighter wood bench turned out to be the perfect touch. Love your vanity space. So glad others like Roarah have the ability to help visualize things. So helpful.

Very nice! I like your paint choice, too and your art looks perfect above the tub. Oh, and the bench is great there, too.

I might tweak some of the lights so they're not all pointing down, maybe even try them (or some of them) pointed at the ceiling, at an angle. You might get a really nice bounce back of bright, indirect light!

Thank you Tina - I thought we would have room on the wall and then I was worried about how the lighting would squeeze in with the tall medicine cabinets and there were a last minute find. I am really happy with them.

Aprilneverends - thank you for your help along the way too! The listing pictures were just awful. We actually drove by this house twice because of location but never asked to see it because of the pictures. Then they dropped the price (for the third time) and had an open house so we went, and DH and I gave each other the look in 5 min,! we knew it was the one.

    Thank you thank you Roarah!

Thank you outsideplaying, Mimipad and sas95.

I have moved the lighting olychick thank you - I actually aimed the two middle ones on the light fixture closest to the door agianst the far wall which is actually a mirrored door. I had assumed I would replace the door, but I do not have great eyesight and I can get very close to it for make up applications so I like it! I really love that wolf picture and had it above my mantel in the last house, I LOVE it there above the bath too. and it makes me super happy and reminds me of my mom.

I pink mountain - thank you! earthy is exactly what we were going for! Bringing the view from the window below in to the house. It is funny to me, I tried some versions of the tub with green artwork over it to tie in what I think it will look like outside soon, but It just didn't seem to work in the room. Maybe I have to wait for the rest of spring :)

I too love your art above the tub! Works perfectly with the tile and the view!

Thanks Roarah - I love that it is a wolf (my mom's Lenape Indian Spirit guide) and it is on a mountain overlooking a small village just like we do out the window! :)

It also looks much better in this spot then it did in my last house.

It's stunning Boop!! What's the space like inside the top drawer of the vanities?

I love it!!! Everything looks great! The tile turned out great and those vanities are perfect!

Wow! What a view you have!

It's really well done, Boop. You think you have bad eyesight? I kept going back and forth between the wolf picture and the view out the window before I read your comment I thought they might have been the same view in different seasons, but couldn't figure out 1) where did all the trees go and 2) why did someone reverse the hill?

WOW. So perfect for the setting. I love the slate, the sinks are so cool, and the vanity lights, too! Enjoy

ETA - I am a devotee of white (and off white if I am feelin' daring) but I have to say, I love the way the dark tile in the tub surround creates contrast with the tub and makes it seem like a cozy nook. Brava

It looks Great!! I was secretly feeling a little nervous about the tile, but it turns out I love it. : ) Here's to many years of leak free usage!

Thank you WWbungalow, raphaellathespanishwaterdog, shopping101, Linelle, rockybird, Delilah66, anniecat, lukkiirish, texanjana, MtnRdRedux, and laughablemoments

Laughablemoments - I was secretly worried about the tile too! which is why I waited to get the vanities until I saw the tile in person in my house. In case I needed to go lighter. but when I saw them I loved them, and there really is a lot of untiled space in the bathroom so I thought it would be OK!

I really need new blinds. I cant' decide what to do. Mostly we just leave them open, but the sunrise is really blinding. if DH leaves the bathroom door open in the night the sunlight is so strong and bounces off the mirrors and wakes you up.

I also really love how the wall color makes the trim look so much better. I now want to paint the whole house. but will have to take my time a bit. :)

Linelle - the plumbing that ikea gives you is a bit tricky, but it makes it really flat to the wall.

I am giving up on the granite people calling me back. I guess a shower curb and threshold are too small a job for them :( there is one more place local that I would rather not go to but I feel like this other place is giving me no choice.

I love it! It feels so warm and cozy yet bright with light. You did an amazing job!!

    Hi Boopadaboo --

Almost to the finish line -- what a transformation! The tile and vanities look great together, and I love the curves of the lights.

At least you all can use the tub now to soak away some of the reno stress; sorry you have to wait on the shower due to non-responsive vendors. Wishing you good luck with the alternative folks.

Thank you all! and thank you for your help House VIxen. I am still over the moon about it. I can't wait till it slows down a bit at work so I can get some plants and look through the rest of my pictures for something over the toilet and by my vanity. I did finally get a quote from the granite place. WAY less than I thought. They didnt have slate slabs (is that even a thing? but had a soapstone that had brown streaks taht I really liked and a granite DH liked, so Maybe we can go tomorrow and get the saddles finalized. then to find a glass place :)

I really want to see how we use things before picking towel hooks too.

:) I just want to say thank you again too. I was very nervous to do this bath over and posted so many times. I appreciate all the help along the way.

I used command hooks to find out where I wanted towel hooks placed. They worked fine for a few weeks before I drilled the permenant ones in.

Love the earthy tiles! Wow, everything turned out great.

I really like this- it's earthy & very clean looking!! Great job!

Gorgeous! This is the first time I've seen the vanities and the medicine cabinets. Wow, great choices. Perfect for the rest of the space.

    Great idea Roarah!

Thank you gsciencechick, peppadoodle and lizzierobin.

I do really love the medicine cabinets and vanities. so much storage! I picked out a couple of pictures for over the toilet (from boxes in the basement). DH is painting the ceiling today. he replaced the light in the shower and over the tub and ceiling was not painted under the old lights :( so he is painting it the same color as the walls.

We went to another granite place this weekend but they were even less helpful than the first place so I think DH is going to go back to the first place today and get a soapstone threshold/saddle for the shower and the door. then we will be one step closer to using the shower :)

I didn't want to start a new thread, but whoo hoo! we have a threshold and glass! :) now the last things to find are towel hooks and a curtain or different blind. They don't make the towel hooks I was thinking of buying anymore :( kind of bummed about that, but excited we can use the shower soon. Don't mind the pics DH took them. there is no spiderman in the shower and he didn't close the toilet!
