Love the railing!

Can you tell me the type of wood and the way you constructed this railing. I'm trying to change the look of a traditional staircase to this. Struggling with 5 newel posts.

I believe the wood is maple. The stainless cables go thru each post. You can buy these online. Make sure you space them no more than 4" apart. They do give a bit if kids decide to stand on them so be careful with small children.
