I think you're heading in the right direction with the portico, shutters and getting rid of the arch over the garage door. I would just continue the siding over the garage. Great ideas! Your house is lovely. Maybe as a quick fix, you could temporarily paint the siding color over that sunburst until ur ready to deal with the siding replacement. Make sure ur shutters are sized properly to ur windows...they should look functional as though they would cover the window if closed. Clean the stone on the retaining wall and repair where necessary. It is looking a little blah compared to the rest of the house. Post pics of ur progress...good luck!

agree get rid of the arch on the garage and continue with the siding to the trim above the garage door. Window boxes to the left and right lower windows in black they have self watering ones that would look lovely with pops of yellow and..... Line your walk with a border of very low shrubs on each side with some simple lighting (not solar) would add great curb appeal. Black shutters as mentioned above too. Difficult to say what to do up the walk as don't know your zone?

Before you take the "starburst" off, I would suggest you paint all your trim a dark gray or black except for the front door, including around the windows. The mix of the white trim, and black windows is not a good look. Once you do that, I think the trim over the garage door is a nice architectural detail that this house needs. The semi-dental trim on the house is very distracting, but by painting it black that will disappear more. Then a nice Porch/portico at the front entrance will really give this home some needed dimension. Let me find some "inspiration" photos for you. bbl

This is a different style home, but you can see how the black trim works.

Here is stone and gray siding with black or very dark gray trims. Again different style, but this look would freshen your home up as well. I would leave the front entrance white against the gray and black other elements.
