Fantasy brown

Is fantasy brown quartzite or marble? I see it mentioned as both and I see it labeled as both in slab warehouses.

I am so confused about this one too. The last 2 warehouses we went to they called it marble. The 3rd, a granite. I was told that some companies like to be on the safe side and call it marble so people don't assume it's as strong as granite. Our granite guy said it's stronger than marble but softer than granite. Sorry I wasn't more help; I am curious for answers as well!

Thanks for getting in touch! It's Quartzite. Here is link that explains the difference between the materials: https://www.msistone.com/blogs/post/2014/07/07/quartzite-countertops-vs-granite-countertops.aspx

Quartzite is better looking and more expensive than Granite. In my opinion, it's less durable than Granite, more durable than Marble, but as my stone yard says it's sort of a hybrid between the two and even in one slab of Quartzite it can have different qualities so it's more risky than choosing marble or granite because you may get variability in the slab.

    Good Luck with your selection!
