Ordering faucets online help

Has anyone ordered kitchen faucets online? My kitchen cabinets are finally getting installed! I love Rohl and Waterworks, but sadly they are way out of my price range. Kitchen cabinets are white, farmhouse style with a Shaw sink. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, many people buy faucets online. You need to narrow down your faucet type. Do you want a single-hole faucet or a bridge faucet? Do you want a side sprayer or an integrated sprayer? Is there a kitchen showroom near you that you can look at the different types of faucets on display?

I dislike bridge faucets myself, but that is just my opinion. I don't like having to have to turn two handles to turn the water on and off and adjust the temperature each time. It's much easier in the kitchen to have one handle, which you can even use with the back of your hand if need be. I also think that an integrated spray is superior to a side sprayer - it has better water pressure. To me, the fewer holes behind the sink, the less there is to clean around.

Here are a couple threads for you to look at which may help you narrow down what you are looking for.

I looked online forever. In the end I bought from HD because I realized I was picky about the range of motion in the control lever on a pull down sprayer faucet.

I have found Amazon to be a great way to order online. Their return policy is quite generous.

I saw the faucet I wanted in a cabinet store and then ordered a slightly different model online from Amazon (saw two handled and ordered a one handle). I am very happy with it.

6 faucets over the years were purchased from faucetdirect.com aka build.com. Great selection, good prices, awesome customer service (I should just copy and paste this to have it at the ready for every time someone asks this question!).

Yes I ordered mine through Amazon and love it.

Freidajune, you mentioned some good points that I need to consider. Function before Form is what I have to keep in mind. Although I like the look of the bridge type, they are not as functional. Thank you for your advice.

If you are in CA and expect a thorough inspection, make sure you get one with proper low flow when ordering online.

I had originally intended to get a bridge faucet but heard from others that water will collect from dripping wet hands onto the countertop around the handles of a faucet mounted on a countertop. Overmount sinks with the faucet on the sink tend to drain water back into the sink, but undermount do not. I decided to reduce this by going from two handles to one and then having the one handle mostly over the sink - like in my picture.

I personally do not like the look of the faucets with the integrated sprayer as much as without. I find the side sprayer to be fine for my needs. It is good to think about how you use your sink when thinking about choosing a faucet. I may be unusual in that I often turn on the water with my left hand even though I am right handed. This is why my handle is on the left.

I wanted a one hole, one handle, pull out sprayer. Arched. I just started googling and then comparing a few sites. I then started narrowing it down and reading through reviews. Weeded out a few more. I also had a budget. I did not want to spend more than $200 to my door. But I also wanted value for my price.

I have had great luck ordering via Home Depot 800- by asking them to price match the web retailers. Recently, however, they actually had the best price on a kitchen faucet I was researching. I find Amazon to be highly reliable and that's my go-to for most things. HD, however, has a longer and more lienient return policy, at last at my store. I'm not a big box fan, but my local HD has treated me well.

I ordered from faucet direct. It is my understanding they are owned by Ferguson. The advice I got was to be sure to verify all parts are in the box as soon as you receive it. I had no problems.

I took a chance and got my Waterstone faucet from ebay seller "plumbingwholesaler". Admitedly still a steeply priced faucet, but knocked a few $100 off the price. There was a stressful few weeks of waiting for me when I had paid for the faucet, but (I guess) Waterstone finishes/plates to order. The faucet was shipped (drop shipped) to me directly from Waterstone in the time line the seller indicated. It was (still is) lovely/perfect.

We have purchased several through Faucet Direct with no problems. Be sure to check the features of the ones you are considering, and read the reviews. I wanted a spray that would stay in the "spray" or "stream" mode till I changed it. Some of them default back to "stream" when you turn the water off and you have to put it back to spray each time. Think (imagine) about using the faucet and what features you would like or dislike about the type you are thinking of buying.
