What Zone are you in? Here in Zone 6A, New Jersey they have not leafed either. We had 70 degrees in February, then 18 inches of snow in March. The Sugar Maples are just starting to leaf. None of the red maples have leafed out. October Glory are also amongst the last to drop leaves in the fall, usually November.

Hey rogerzone6, I am in zone 7. I am hoping that is the case that it's just a late leafer. I noticed today on the edge of my property there is a red maple that just grew naturally and it is fully leafed out. I decided to check the buds this morning and make sure they are green inside and sure enough they were. I will just keep an eye on it and hope I will see them start to come out. I too haven't gotten anything on mine. It's just a stick! Kinda worried. I'm in zone 8a. I'm really hoping it's not dead! We got alot of rain after I planted it and have since watered it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Vicki, in a zone 8 climate at the end of June, if your maple has not yet leafed out, I doubt it will :-( If you can post close up photos of a branch end or two, showing any buds, we could confirm. But it doesn't sound very promising.

I planted my October Glory last fall. 1 yr ago. it has green leaves but this is last week of October and No Red leaves at all, dont know what zone i am in . Agawam Mass
