Looks like Early Blight or some other fungal disease...remove the affected leaves and spray with a fungicide. The white spots could be powdery mildew, usually brought on by lack of air circulation around your plants.

the plants have quite a bit of space. I just picked up some fungicide and will remove the effected leaves and then spray.

FWIW, fungicide is usually a preventative. Once fungus starts, it's almost impossible to eradicate. But might as well give it a try.

Well that's a bummer. I thought it was able to be treated provided you get most of the damaged leaves off?

Cure it? No. But fungicides can slow it down substantially. And you have to keep removing any affected leaves ASAP. Since you already pruned them so severely their life span will be shortened greatly due to the loss of all the foliage. So you might want to consider planting replacements.

I appreciate the help. I'm in Florida some I'm not even sure if it makes sense to plant replacements given how hot the summer will be...
