Hello, I just moved into a house (southern NH) last August my plan was to start working on the yard come spring. Around late Sept/early October I noticed a section of my lawn turn brown thought it was due to the drought we had. I discovered it was actually grubs. Last weekend I raked up the whole section (20x20 area) and now I am left with just the soil. It looks as though the previous owners brought soil in throughout as it's really nice looking soil. I did some research and it looks as though I should not put any grub control down until late June/early July, is that correct? Also from what I am finding it sounds as though I shouldn't reseed until the fall as that is the best time around here to seed, is that correct? I assume all kinds of weeds will pop up where I took up the dead grass from the grubs so I am looking for your thoughts on the best approach for this area and when to reseed it. I appreciate any assistance you may have!
