Nursery/Guestroom combination

Guestroom combination-help! My daughter is expecting a baby girl in two weeks. I purchased this rug from Houzz yesterday. And yes I am a terrible procrastinator. I'm looking for paint color ideas as well as curtain ideas. Or any thoughts anyone might have- The sooner the better because she is planning on coming to stay for a week after baby is born.

The trim and all the furniture is white. The floor is light hardwood. Yesterday I also purchased a multicolor quilt. I'm hoping to create shaggy chic feel. Im working with a limited budget limited budget. I am so excited and would love to have this room be very special. Any ideas suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can do the cream color that is in the rug. As for curtains, I would keep it simple,,white or something similar to your rug.

whatever you choose for window treatment, have a black out liner under it all. my son and d in l ended up pulling the porta crib into my office over christmas for naps (5 month old), as its the only room in my house (with 5 bedrooms!) that had a black out window treatment.

which reminds me, i need to get a black out window treatment for the room my grandson is *supposed* to nap in....

nnigrt is right..That's what we did when we moved into our house. We had curtains done with black out liner..It's actually the only room that has window treatments even though it's been years and the kids are teens now:)

Love the rug and the dresser! You can pull any of the colors in perhaps a more muted shade for the walls, depending on how the rest of your home is painted. I see grey, sage, pinks and blues. Getting a wash of color will allow your white trim and dresser to pop. Add some pretty glass or ceramic knobs, white curtains (yes, black out) and white linens or an antique quilt. It will be beautiful! Blessings on that new granddaughter!

What a lovely rug and cute dresser. You could pick up the teal shade (cute for shabby chic) or if you wanted something lighter, use the same color as the rug's background. You may also have to consider the color in the quilt...try to find something that works with both the rug and bedding. A lined roman blind may just enough, as drapes could feel overwhelming for the small window. An idea if you don't already have a ceiling fixture is to look for a second hand chandelier and spray paint it.
