Signs of Spring

last modified: 8 years ago

How is the status of everyone's gardens? Any other signs of spring for you yet?

I was quite excited, the sun came out long enough today for me to snap some photos!

Crocus are doing much better this year, last year they didn't even flower, this year there are lots. Allium 'Gladiator' in the back:

Allium 'Globemaster', interesting how the leaves are different compared to 'Gladiator':

The 'King Alfred' daffodils have definitely increased over the past few years. 'Tete-a-tete' in the background, planted last year:

The tulips (no ID, perhaps Darwin?) against the house are doing great and have multiplied from last year:

My patch of prairie crocus increased slightly as well:

I am impressed by the sedums, they have been growing steadily over the last few weeks. Sedum 'Acre' here is almost invasive:

Np ID sedum:
Wooly Snow-in-Summer has also been growing early, I love how compact the leaves are:

A few roses hardy to the tips, even with the ups and downs of the cold/warm temps and unreliable snow coverage this winter. Below are Wasagaming and Therese Bugnet. Polareis (not pictured) also was also one of the few hardy to the tips, although it was buried under a snow bank.
