This is a small area so you would have to fill in the rest with your imagination, but I love the low wall next to the hot tub for privacy (and looove the basket for towels too!) and the glass roof for all-season protection.

You have a nice flat backyard which is a great
play area. Make the deck larger by extending it along the back of the
house, you’ll have more room for furniture (see below). Pave the area
between the deck and the hot tub - this can be used as a patio or a play
area. Install paver-edging like this, it keeps the pavers in place and stops lawn grass growing onto the patio.

For safety, install railings on the deck and steps. Hang window boxes on the railings filled with colorful flowers and herbs.

Place
a few large planters on the paved area. Each child can have their own
planter and grow flowers, herbs or vegetables. This is a low maintenance
‘mini garden’ that children enjoy!

Finally,
plant some small trees or large shrubs on each side of the yard for
privacy. Choose plant material that is native to your region
(indigenous). Natives are easier to grow, they’re adapted to your local
climate and provide habitat for birds and butterflies. Choose several
species with varying flowers, foliage, bark and berries. Specialized
suppliers can be found online.
