Wow - that's a design dilemma for sure! All I can think of is (1) a curtain, (2) an accordion door, or (3) a bifold door. If the three I lean toward a bifold door, which would off the most privacy and be the most attractive. Only problem is that from one side it will be awkward to open, I think I'd still go with that.

Hang the door so that it opens into the closet space, not into the bathroom.

Depends on how much privacy you want. Here is a crazy idea. There are retractable screens that roll in and out. I don't know if the come with a choice that lets min light through but it would fit inside that door jam and be easy to open and close. It might be creative way to get some privacy but still allow easy use.

try two skinny centre opening doors. probably meant for a closet. It cuts the swing room in half and the scale could be cute.

How about swinging saloon doors with water rain glass inserts?
