A little advice needed for mangetout seedlings.

So I found some old mangetout seeds I bought several years ago with the intention of growing them. Until now I have never grown anything. So I got myself a heated propagater and all the bits and bobs to plant some seeds (mainly chili seeds). I had a spare compartment so I thought I may as well see if anything comes of the old mangetout seeds. So it's day 5 and I have one seedling appear in the mangetout box overnight. No leaves on it yet just a little stem, however it looks as though it has grown at a right angle horizontally the moment it poked its head out of the soil though... Is this normal? If not what should I do if anything? I'm very excited that something I planted actually started to grow lol.
