We just feel fortunate that this is our view but I confess, I like it really dark when I sleep so we have drapes that block the view (because the early morning just might crash in on me a little too soon). But oh, when we throw those drapes open in the morning...!

We have a fixer house that still needs quite a bit of work. The view while laying in bed is pretty good, about 25 miles up the Sound.

Double glass doors out to a balcony overlooking back gardens, fir trees and field. No houses in sight!

In our L-shaped bedroom, we view 3 closets, TV on huge stand (our bed is quite high), master bath, 2 entry doors, a computer desk with printer, stacks of paper/office supplies/file cabinet, dog's playpen (where she sleeps), armoire (used for toiletries), 3 dressers, make-up table, and small jewelry armoire. Sigh...It always feels like a warehouse, but everything is used everyday. Don't know of a better solution. Yes, I do have bedroom envy...

I have a window an can see the sunrise - or even the rain! I didn't know how important this was to me until I bought a newer house with no bedroom windows at all. I sold that house in 13 days.

A bedroom with no windows is unthinkable to me. A pox on whoever designed that house. Way up above I described the view straight in front of my bed, but I'm happy to say I have a window to see through that shows me mostly the border trees on the small golf course over the road. No glorious view, but that's lovely enough for me. Still, I'd rather see the next-door high-rise out of the window than see nothing.

Any room be it kitchen, bath, living, office/den, bedroom, eating room, walk in pantry room, laundry room without a window is unthinkable to me! I guess it's claustrophobia (a little bit). Guess that's why I don't have walk in closets. If I ever do design one, it will have a window! I grew up in a 4 square and every room had windows including baths and basement and laundry room in basement and attic. Since the house was built in 1911, it had no walk in closets, just small ones. LOL

We live in a subdivision, not too many inspiring views to be had. So we put up this photo wall mural. This is the view from our bed. It brightens up the room everyday! I wish we had a lake or skyline view.

yeah, my bed faces the folding door for the bathroom, but i always lay on my left so i face the tv and window to the porch.

This proves how much I want to change the furniture around in my bedroom. That art looks ok, can't say the ginormous dog crate beneath is helps. . But to look AT the bed, it's not too bad, some nice wall lights, a window on each side, beautiful cabin print...*sigh...

This is a good 1 - fun! I couldn't vote because it depends what side of the bed we get out on. I typically see this to my side (hopefully eventually the tree will grow in enough to obscure the neighbors across the lake):

The other side of the room is the door to the bathroom. So - a window, a door, another part of the house, large artwork & a mirror. That's kind of a lot to look at...

Our bedroom is dark green and brown. I decorate with moss décor, kind of a forest feel . My bed comes out of a corner. It gives my bedroom a more of an open feel. Our bed being at an angle, you can see everything. We are putting in sliding doors, new closet doors and new flooring. I also keep a Christmas tree in our bedroom. The perfect lighting for a forest feel. I'll post photos when it's complete!

The bedroom has access to the cheater ensuite so the view is the bathroom (when the pocket door is open) and on either side of the doorway I have a vintage faux fireplace/secretary and on the other a now antique sideboard that our flat screen sits on.

We are lucky enough who wake up each morning to a view of lush trees and the beautiful flowerbeds of a country garden seen through French doors leading to a small balcony.

My master bedroom is a bit of a work in progress, but I reoriented the bed after finally getting a closet built earlier this year. It now faces a wall with two large windows and a built-in bookshelf at the far end of the room. My husband's dresser is there also as it wouldn't fit anyplace else. My view is through a window into the tree tops in our back yard, but my husband's view is to the wall between the two windows. So I asked him what would make him feel happy and peaceful if it was the first thing he saw in the morning.... naturally, he said "a boat!' So I found a great vintage photo of a mail clipper sailing past Ellis Island and gave it to him for Valentine's Day. I plan to eventually make that more of a gallery wall with other boat types and pictures.

Because he loves boats and lakes and beaches, that became my inspiration for the color scheme. I painted the walls a greige color that reminds me of wet sand and looked for new bedding that has hints of Aegean blue and turquoise. I don't think he's picked up on the way it ties in yet but there's much more to come! :)

We believe in bringing the outdoors in with a window whenever possible. Whether its a few pots on a deck or an intricate landscape with water features,
natural light and the beauty of the outdoors starts your day off right.

I should have mentioned that before the remodel and closet build, the bed was on the same wall as the windows. It was positioned in such a way that I slept facing the bedroom door (which when open means a view of the hallway and stairs just to the left.) It always made me feel very unsettled and unsafe... probably the feng shui experts on this thread could explain that to me!

Right now my bed faces the bathroom - time to rearrange!?

Tree tops! There is a steep hill behind out house so when we are laying in bed and look out the slider we see treetops (mostly oaks) with some pines towering higher.....when we were house shopping we named this 'the tree house'

I swapped out a tv on the plain wall opposite my bed for an oversized terrarium and collection of pretty boxes

We have a wall of Ikea storage - white cabinets with glass doors backed with white, and eventually above them we are going to put up bookshelves that we will back light with LEDs. I would have preferred facing the view, but then it would have been hard to put 2 closets in the room.

Here is a photo of something similar, but our storage cabinets are glass doored and the back panels of the bookshelf part are going to have LEDs behind them. I may draw a few branches with a few leaves or something nice and soothing on the panels, too.

It bolsters my faith in diversity to see how many different ways there are for people to wake up to something they love looking at. Bravo, brava.

It's a beautiful space but I've struggled with what to do with it for 8 years now.

Ignore the unhung art by the fireplace! There is an angle where the 1st 2 chests meet the third chest & fireplace. Fortunately I owned pieces I could place that fit. The room is sunny and warm and overlooks the other side of the canyon where I live. There is also a balcony.

@devin1995 If you can't get ideas in 8 years, it's time to call in an interior decorator consultant. They can give you a ton of help with just one hour of consultant time. Then go for it.

when i'm in bed, my eyes are either reading or closed and sleeping. my entire home is exciting and beautiful to me, as is the exterior ocean view. i am anxious to awaken and explore. i rarely sit in bed and look at the view.

having slept several times since this began, it has dawned on me that it depends on time of day etc. often i awake with a fuzzy face jammed into mine. whose has a lot to do with the time of day.

Favorite Part of my house.

Currently our headboard backs up to a large window with a beautiful view of our back yard and miles of valley and trees below. So instead, we face an inside wall that is pretty boring, and there is no other wall that the headboard could be placed without making the layout somewhat awkward. I have contemplated just turning the bed around with the foot board in front of the window so that our view would be directed outside. It might be weird though having the headboard in the middle of the room! But I thought I could place a dresser against the back side of the headboard to hide the end since we would not have the coverlet to hide the end of the mattress and box springs like it does on the foot end. Still thinking on it and might just give it a try one of these days...

@Tammy Hinkle I've seen photos on Houzz with that type configuration. The bed's headboard is in the middle of the room or just leaves about 1/4 of the room behind it. The show dressing behind the headboard with low dressers not extending past the headboard. One had an extended headboard with the bath and closet behind it. Both allowed for movement around the foot of the bed. It works nicely if you have a bit of room for maneuverability. Try it and see if you are comfortable with that style.

You can also put your bed on a diagonal using a corner that isn't cut off by doors.

I have arranged previous bedrooms with the diagonal bed. It is actually a great way to make the most of your wall space in a small room by taking up more of the center space and leaving more walls available for dressers. It wouldn't work for this bedroom though. However, once I find the right piece of furniture to place behind the headboard, I think I will give this arrangement a try! In addition to a low dresser, I was thinking a pretty settee/bench with a back, or a long low sideboard, could also be options.

devin, sometimes, I think that is the best view of all. you shall wake every morning knowing that an adventure lies ahead. knowing that around every corner there is a potentially more beautiful view than what you have now!

@devin ? How about a window seat with bookshelves on either side of window and some oversized chairs for reading ?
