Was the soil/mulch built up around a previously existing tree?

    The dirt was not raised over the base of the tree. The tree was originally planted in the planters 15 years ago. We did not change the shape or height of the planters, we removed the old timbers and installed flagstone.

    It is a Crabapple tree. The fire does not go too high and the tree is pruned high above it so it will not catch on fire. Thank you for liking and sharing our picture.
