Hoya Bella concerns

I have a Hoya plant from a cutting I made a while ago and it's just started to develop these dark reddish purple lines down the leaves and the new growth have red tips. Does anyone know what's wrong and how I can fix ? Thanks.

Completely normal, especially if grown in high light. It is very common to have the red central venation on the one people are calling Hoya lanceolata ssp. bella Paxtonii or Hoya bella 'Paxtonii' (neither is an accepted name, bella is bella, except when it is variegated, then it is Hoya bella variegated).

Yup, getting lots of light, but in a good way, not damaging. My b****y bella had the same purple veins and reddish new growth. I have moved her to another spot and it's all gone back to green, which is a shame, I kinda liked the purple.

Interesting about the "Paxtonii" bit aurorawa. I have seen it listed for sale but couldn't see any difference when I googled. Is there a huge difference between bella and lanceolata? I've read differing answers....

Interestingly enough, Hoya lanceolata (Lindley's, not Wallich ex Don) is actually thought to be the true verticillata, which, in no way, looks like bella.

Christine Burton quotes, "After seeing pictures of the Vahl specimens, supplied to me by Dr. Veldkamp of Leiden University, I was convinced that Hoya pallida Lindley (not Dalz. & Gibs.) and Hoya lanceolata Lindley (not Wallich ex. D. Don) are Hoya verticillata (Vahl) G. Don."

Also, interestingly, Hoya lanceolata Wallich ex Don IS listed as a ssp. bella, but a homonyn for it is LINDLEY'S Hoya lanceolata (which many have identified as verticillata)!

Here is the issue...both herbarium specimens and publications were accepted in 1825, so how do we know who is correct?

Well, since all names/homonyms/synonyms are UNRESOLVED:

    we may never know

    Some more interesting tidbits:

    Hoya lanceolata Wallich ex Don:

    Looks like bella to me!

    And more:

Hoya lanceolata Lindley has NO holotype or herbarium sheet (that I can find), but looking in Tropicos, the annotation does show they were unsure if it was a synonym of parasitica:

What makes things more difficult is that it seems both the Lindley and Wallich. types were submitted/published in 1825.
