It's still so cold here; it rained/snowed/frozen rained all day yesterday.

I'm rushing and behind and never getting caught up. I need three of me just to get though one day...and that doesn't seem to be happening!

I want STAFF. Then I can delegate.

Uh-oh. I posted this afternoon on the "I'm waiting" thread.

Shades, I love that shade!! Good choice.

It was in the 70's here today, 80's tomorrow. I did a bit out in the yard and then I had a meeting to go to and that ended up taking up most of the afternoon. I found a nice wooden rocker for $20 that I brought home. It's not particularly old. It's in good shape and will be great to add to the front porch when the need arises.

Thanks Murraysmom. Cool find o the rocker. Lucky you!

Murraysmom - let's see a pic of that rocker please.

I am finally, maybe, hopefully hanging the lace valance on the breakfast nook window.

I'm putting it on a plain simple curtain rod, once I get the brackets up.

I have my cup of tea on the paint shelf of the tall step ladder.

    Multi-tasking! ADD? OCD? Just weird?

Being female, caroline. It's how we do things.

OH Good Caroline. I think it will look nice. Can't wait for photos.

Still undecided on the direction I am taking today. It is supposed to rain and it is a big maybe. But it is dark out there with clouds so I am betting the rains will come. So no painting unless I haul the stuff into the garage. It might be a bit chilly out there to work on the kitty house. Maybe this is a day to work on my mosaic. OH and just as I typed this the rains have started. Solved that question. Yep I think I might try to do a little more on the kitty house inside the garage then lots of mosaic in the warm house.

I drove to Walmart to return a few things and picked up a few more. :) Then on the way home stopped for salad greens at Aldi, then cat food at another store. Came home and jumped on the mower, mowed it all, ran the weed eater a bit, then said "That's it!" at nearly 2pm, made tea and been sitting ever since. I really do not like to do the trim mowing. The weeds grow tall and happy at the base of my trees and other hard to get areas.

Gorgeous day today. I have the big schoolhouse door open to the breeze. Shades, our rain and stormy weather is suppose to come tomorrow and Friday.

If I thought yesterday was unpleasant, think what a drop of 20° did for today.

The sun is beautiful today but the wind is biting cold. It is supposed to warm up this weekend or early next week. I have a lot of paper work to get ready for my conversation with tax adviser on Monday. I think i will just wait out the wind and do my paper work.

I forced myself to at least go out to the garage and shift vehicles around to move the Ranger with plow into the garage so I could remove the plow and mount. WHOOT that is accomplished. I made a detailed instructions for removal with socket and wrench sizes so it will be easier for me next time. Now if we do get good weather I can put the spray tank in the back and go to town on the weeds.

Neighbor stopped for a brief visit then I went back to do a little work on the kitty house. I have the wire cut for two sides. One more to go. The back side does not get wire I left the louvers in the door. I have wire on one side piece and getting ready to put the support posts on that panel Had to come in for a little warm up and coffee for now.I will switch to tea next cup. I also needed the battery for the saw. I am not going to beat myself up on this too much more today. As long as things continue to go well I will keep at it. Or until it gets too cold.It is getting close to that now and the temps will drop when the sun moves behind the hill.

No paper work done yet. Maybe later maybe not. I have to Sunday night to get it done.

Why does houzz turn every two words with a period between them into a link?

I mostly notice it with dot it.

    cold.it

    me.it

    hamburger.it

And now that I've complained it will go away!

Edited after I looked it up.

The eye is done and I survived. not sure how well it is done tho. the surgery ran late (their schedule off), so less time between it and the 4.15 check up. so we just went to a Mexican restaurant and split an enchilada. I didn't want to eat a lot in case it didn't settle well with the drugs and drops they'd given me. that all was fine tho. we left here at 9 am and she got me home at 5.30. we were both zombies by then...

at check up, doc seemed to not be super pleased with something he saw when 'looking behind' the eyeball (I guess). I heard the word 'retina' mentioned again... then he said I'd need to come back tomorrow for a recheck... ugh! no way! sister and I planned to go home and sleep for a week!

I talked the scheduler down from about 8am to 1 pm appt. no way I was gonna be up and out of the house to be there at 8am. I'd have to walk there because I can't drive yet and I knew my sister wasn't getting up that early to drive me! and this will give the doc more time to consult with the retinal specialist (my other eye doc) who wanted the surgery to 'see' what was back there since they couldn't really 'see' what was going on in the back. I think maybe the surgeon doc 'saw' what is in the back...

other than that I guess i'm doing ok. they forgot to give me tape to retape the 'shield' over my eye tonight. I guess I'll use packing tape or painter's tape (if I can find it) and then rig up some way to keep me from sleeping on my left side. that's a big no-no with this. almost time to put in night drops and take other meds and call it a loooong day! today he added 2 other drops for me to put in - tho, he put those in at the office and they cover 'tonight'. but in the morning I'll be putting in 5 different drops... the added 2 are supposed to be just 'temporary (I think they have to do with what he 'saw' behind my eye)'. The other 3 (3x a day) I continue with for a wk or 2 before they drop to just 2 drops (3x a day) for the following 2 wks.

I hope you have a timer set for each of those applications! You'll hardly get done with one before the cycle starts over.

Imhappy - that sure seems like my reality right now. i just keep telling myself that in 2 wks it'll ease up and then in another 2 wks the drops should end.

there's an option to get a shot in the eye area in place of all of the drops. i opted for that. the surgeon opted me out of that! not for my eye he said.

he also put a clump of gel medicine in my eye (on the white part). he said it'd slowly dissolve in and around my eye. he had us look at it so we didn't later see it and think it to be a growth or bubble of some kind.

i'm supposed to wear my sunglasses even inside. i'm typing with them on over my glasses. it makes me feel a lot more blind than i am - lol! i sometimes have to take them off when i'm walking inside. like at night 'cause i don't have that much light inside.

Steph I am glad that part of your eye surgery is done. I laid in bed to do my drops. It was a very long time before I could see clearly again. Maybe months. Fortunately I had a really old pair of glasses I could wear to kind of get me by. I hope today's doctors visit goes well. It is the norm to have to go back in the very next morning early for a check.

" I hope today's doctors visit goes well."

thx shades! I too lie in bed (at least part way) to put them in. It's easier to hold my head back that way.

my vision in it is somewhat worse right now. I have heard and read that this is often normal for a bit of time. not to worried about that right yet. i'm wearing my glasses - they were way past due to be replaced. last fall I planned to get new ones in January (after the holidays). when the eye flared up in Nov, that was put on hold. I think much of what I've read says after the initial 1st month of recovery you can get new ones. of course, I'll go by what my doctor says for me.

I had my 1st check up - at 4.15 yesterday and wasn't due back there until May 2 - until he looked with his microscopic glasses/machine into the far back of my eye. His top tech guy (who had been in surgery with me) checked my eye when the 1st tech questioned what he saw. He asked me if I'd had previous surgery on it. (no) He had the top tech check it and he then saw need for the doc to check it also. Then doc said he wanted me back in this a.m. like at 8 a.m. I was just determined I wasn't getting up and moving that fast today. my sister either. We've both have had our physical problems for a long time and have for many yrs not set appts much before noon. I always set for about 1-2 pm (so i'm awake and have meds in me for a few hrs and can get home prior to heavy traffic on my main road). I once adjusted that to go in at 10 a.m. for a test because the lab tech needed to be at a hospital at the later time with their parent. And I knew they needed to be there with that parent (and probably drive them to it), so I made me get up and out earlier than normal. I have a lot of bad nights and never know when that'll be. It's often rather regular, so I just plan my appt time to adjust for that happening.

I am so thankful for my continued good health. I hope this eye will heal well for you Steph and you can put this behind you and best of all be able to see. I remember hundreds of little black floaters that did finally clear. I do not remember how long that took.

Wow, Steph! I hope your surgery went ok and they don't find anything more troubling! It's always a worry, isn't it? I can't imagine going for any real length of time with blurry vision. I hope that doesn't happen to you.

Skibby, here's a picture of the rocker. It's pretty comfortable. I like it.

20 bucks for that rocker! That was a steal!

We went rummaging today but didn't find anything to brag about. I bought a brand new key board and mouse for $5. It's in the spare parts tub. A floating lantern for $2. If I fall out of the boat while holding it someone can find me. I bought something for 50¢ that I don't remember what it was and I don't know where it is. Just know I used some change out of my pocket. Oh, I remember. Dog blanket. It started raining while we were in the Dollar store where we spent the most money. Next week is my friend's town but after doing this for so many years we don't have high hopes any more. Grandma's stuff is all at the landfill.

MurraysMom that is a great chair.

Well the Catio is not done. I need latches for the door. The shelves hardly show. There are four shelves and five spaces. I still need to put metal on the roof. Kitties have already explored and I think they will like it. I am exhausted I have been working in the yard and on the go since 9 this morning with just a few short rest breaks. I sprayed weeds in the yard since there was no wind. Then went to work on the catio determined to get it put together today. I am pleased with how it turned out. some touch up painting to do on it. Of course. PITA in the Catio here.

And standing looking through their 10 by 10 foot run back to the winter quarters catio.OH HA nice clothespin on the chain link. I did not see it when I was taking the photo. Unk in the catio this time.

"I remember hundreds of little black floaters that did finally clear."

I don't have any of those. thankfully!

yesterday the doc had me stop 1 drop (that he'd sent home with me on Thurs) and added another - that's just like a eye wetter type eye drops. but he insisted I get a particular brand. Muro - which I couldn't find it OTC. tried 3 places on Friday and today I called a major grocery chain here, 2 CVS drug stores, checked website of 2 walmarts (that list all stock updated at midnight), and called 2 walgreens stores. FINALLY, the last walgreens had it in stock! at 27.00 $s - holy smokes! my sister came by to get me and took me there to get it. i'm to put a drop in - every 15 minutes! (is he testing my patience? lol!)

my sister thinks he owns stock in the company! ha! anyway, i'm not making it every 15 min. but trying to stick close to it. will not wake myself up all thru the night for it tho.

on the way home, we stopped at a place called Freddy's for food. I'd not eaten there, she has and loves it. I got a steakburger and malt. malt awesome and steakburger ok - good veggies on it. I ate half and will have other half tomorrow. and I still have my bacon from breakfast yesterday (in the afternoon) so I can make a blt tomorrow also - so I've got enough premade food not to need to make anything else. And a lemon pie - I bought a whole pie at IHOP yesterday and split with my sister. Her dh is out of town (he does the cooking) so she's eating whatever she can find at her house that's premade or easy (like pnb sandwiches).

my friend came back over today and pulled more weeds. the back area is mostly done now. and she cleaned the hall bathroom. since no one uses it, it's not been cleaned for a long time. but it's the one she uses when here. I didn't want her doing anything in my room cause I didn't want anything disturbed or raising up any dust or dirt (there's a lot that could be cleaned in here but dust / dirt floating around isn't good for my eye). We've had a lot of wind the last 2 days which means desert dirt is blowing everywhere!

she plans to fix some plumbing issues and told me not to buy any more parts - that she found more than enough in the drawers in there. I think she's a lot like you shades - she can fix most anything. bravo - a female 'handyman'.
