making a come back

As a kid and young adult my family and I have always been into gardening. I spent many summers working my grandfather's farm garden and dairy cows. School and college I always stayed with FFA and horticulture. I've spent the last 17 years of my life with law enforcement. A little over 2 years I had a stroke and lost the right side of my body. I am right hand dominant lol! Long story short, after all the rehab and relearning how to things we've taken for granted for years. I came to realize I lost the ability to do my hobbies and my profession. I've completed all of that with a 90% recovery. Everything returned but my right shoulder and hand.

Again, long story short, it's been years since I've grown anything now. I've always loved my victory gardens lol. I've suffered with c - ptsd for a long time now and gardening has become my main source off release. I love it. I'm in Louisiana, with 20 miles from the gulf. My thing is, are there any particular things I need to know? I am doing raised gardening and keeping it simple for now. There are so many bugs.... What I would like to find is Daikon radish, rutabaga, peanuts, chard, and cucuzzi.

I have all the "normal" veggies going but I'm having difficulty finding those. If you any advice or suggestions I'd appreciate it. I'm disabled and have all day to sit around, I'd rather be outside with my kids letting them learn like I did!!
