We are working on designing our kitchen renovation and I have a question regarding wall cabinet height. We will be using cabinets which can be customized to any height we want. We have 8 foot ceilings (although they probably aren't completely level).

I'm looking for opinions regarding "ideal" wall cabinet height. We definitely want the cabinets to "go to the ceilings" and would like some crown molding as well (although it doesn't have to be a lot). Should we just stick with the standard 36" height cabinets or would something else be better?

We will be doing white shaker style cabinets (like the rest of the world). :)
