Help with training a Dappled Willow, please!

I am trying this as an experiment, really, but I am in love with the Dappled Willow/ Hakuro Nishiki in both the shrub and tree form. I do not have any space for it as a shrub. The grafted tree form isn't available in my area and is expensive even if it was. I purchase one in shrub form at my local Lowes. I separated the three plants, braided them together (sort of), and pruned off everything at the bottom to form more of a tree shape. What I am wondering is if I should prune off any more on the top? Should I cut the branch (coming off the trunk) to the right off? What do you guys think?
