Very nice! I have some of those and really enjoy them - Before the Storm is an outstanding mini, and of course any of the Rob's plants are favorites. I like Ness's Angel Glitter so see how it does for you. I am definitely a fan of weeding out any that don't Wow you though. Jolly Orchid is always a winner and I like how variable the flowers are for me between winter and summer. A subtle change but nice. If you happen to like puff fantasy flowers at all, I recommend trying Rob's Outer Orbit. You might also like Watermelon Bay - single Bells but sometimes more ruffly doubles with a nice range of hues in each flower. ;)

Thanks for the thoughts! I actually had watermelon bay at one time but chose to keep Lil Sweetheart instead, (which is almost ready to bloom again!) since the blooms were somewhat similar. I regret that I didn't keep it! And it's funny, I've considered Outer Orbit too!

Nice ones. I would suggest you Google each of them to see how they grow and bloom for others. If you haven't seen that already, you'll notice that some like Mac's Scorching Sun ... usually doesn't look like how that photo implies. I really like my Watermelon Bay but I agree, if you already have something pretty close to it, I tend to pick my favorite and pass on the other. Even with all of my space there's still the problem of having enough time for 3,000+ plants. Sometimes the stems on my Watermelon Bay are a bit unruly and could be better behaved but the flowers and foliage make up for it's quirks for me.

Yes, I do the same thing! I had a list of about 20 i was interested in, then went and googled everything and this is what I narrowed it down to. :D it's funny, cause I almost passed on Mac's Scorching Sun, but then looked it up and it's way prettier than the pic shows!

Thanks Patty! I've tried vanilla trail and it was a little too unruly for me! :P the blooms are gorgeous tho! I have never tried crinkle blue... That one is darling!

When I asked about triple blooms I was thinking more about ones like Redoubled... The round, puff blooms. Are there any semi and mini that are this PUFFED?

I think Lil Sweetheart would be closer to triple than most. And perhaps Lithuania? Waiting for those two to bloom. :)

Lituanika is a nice one if you can find it. It can be hard to get and very pricey, but you will find it as 'unruly' as Rob's Vanilla Trail, it also being a floppy, rambling plant. Trust me though, if you do it up in a little pot that you drop down into a hanging glass bubble with some Spanish moss tucked in around it, it makes a stunning display like a miniature hanging basket beneath your lights or in a window.

Unfortunately no, I am not aware of any true ball ruffled minis or semis. As far as I know it's mostly a Russian trait that is fairly recently become well developed and they do not do many minis. So I think you'd have to work on hybridizing your own. But there's always more out there I do not know so keep looking! You may have stumbled upon a niche yet to be filled.

You can check or ask fancy bloomer for lituanika. She still listed it on website but said sold out. Probably she will has it later. The price is reasonable. I bought it in last October.

I found Lithuania on eBay... In a lot of mini leaves. The seller so awesomely honored my little plea for Lithuania! ;) I've rooted every leaf I've taken off of her... I'm not about to loose that one. :D
