The plant in the first photo is dead. The plant in the last photo looks okay. It needs to be in a very small (3") pot until it grows bigger. It needs a gritty cactus and succulent potting media with pumice or perlite added (because cactus mix never has enough pumice/perlite in it). It needs to be in a very sunny place, though it should be introduced very gradually to intense sunlight. Start with that. Proceed to the Cactus and Succulent forum where there is more info on Jade plants than you can imagine. Good luck! This is a common and easily available plant, so you can always get a new plant if need be.

Boy, are you in trouble!! Lol!! As noted, the 'mother' plant is dead - very dead. It's tiny offspring looks to be in decent shape but as indicated in the first post, it needs to be repotted - smaller pot, better soil. Water very sparingly and provide lots of light.

uhg... I feel terrible! absolutely terrible... But the good of all this is that there is an offspring and it is doing well, just needs put in a different pot and watered and in sunlight. I'm heartbroken because she is going to be heartbroken when she gets home. thank you for your help.
