John Deere transmissions

I recently bought a d160 tractor. I'm told that it comes with a k46 tranny. I was also told that it is very weak when it comes to pulling a plug aerator. So if this is true could I just buy a k66 transmission and swap them out? New k66 shipped is $225. Would save lots of aggregation
