If you have lily beetles, they are easy to spot because they are red. I hate using chemical sprays, but unfortunately, natural products don't seem to be very effective on them. My lilies were only a few inches out of the ground when I spotted the beetles already. I think this is a bad sign that there will be a lot of lily beetles this year.

try daylilies, there are many different varieties, put them in a sunny location

Sorry I should have clarified- I'm looking for suggestions other than daylilies (I have them growing in several other locations already).

I'm looking for something similar to Asiatic lilies- ? Oriental lilies or bedding lilies? I'd like ideas on what requires the least maintenance/ fuss. (Prior to having 3 little kids, I could devote hours to picking lily beetles off the plants- right now it just isn't possible.)

All lilium species and hybrids are grown very similarly and will require the same sort of attention and care. And the lily beetles are not picky about which kind they dine on, either. If you have lily beetles in your area, then any lily will be a challenge to keep clean and healthy.
