TVs never feel right in corners. I think partly because you can't really put a proper console beneath them. There's always over the fireplace, though that's my third least favorite option.

Or you could just kill your TV. Is there anything on anyway?

@groveraxle the room is too narrow to put the tv over the fireplace. Neck strain! And tv is a must for sports watching. And there's no other room that could be used for that. The living room is half of the downstairs and given where the fireplace is, we can't do much to "divide" it.

Not sure how we could do the seating in that case.

How about on a low-ish console to the left of the FP? Then, the bookcase can go elsewhere in your home or perhaps behind your upholstered chair?

Not enough room to the left of the fireplace. Tv is 55". I'm guessing about 12x24

Potentially, thanks. Will have to see another the "dead space" on the ends of the room. Not sure if it will be too "crammed" in the middle.

I also don't mind the tv in the corner but I'm struggling with display. Wall mount? Easel? Cool stand?

Does it have to be in the living room? It looks so full as it is.... I personally like a cabinet that has doors so that I can close off the TV.

To make this room look more balanced I would put the sectional(?) in the corner where the tv is...then try the tv
on the wall that is opposite the fireplace....being flexible with the placement of the tv you can decide where the two chairs will fit .....to include a view of the fireplace and the tv....this is strictly trial and error project til it feels right...keeping the tv where it is seems unworkable ...

If this works you can tackle the right setting for the tv...mounting it on the wall with a low wide cabinet/credenza beneath it would be a fresher start with your new and hopefully better balanced look

Thanks. Just to clarify the first picture is a before so nothing is the same no furniture or layout wise. It's empty. The room is renovated now with a new opening where the lamp is and no furniture at all. There's no other room to put the tv in. This room is half the downstairs.

Are you using the same furniture?...given what seems like some pretty substantial changes are happening ...new pictures may be in order...maybe some floating furniture arrangements....another challenge will be to assess traffic flow as well
