Hate the grooves in my Stickley table!

I purchased a Stickley pedestal table about 5 years ago for our everyday dining table. The design of the table has grooves every 3.5 to 7 inches across the table. The problem is that I cannot keep those grooves clean from crumbs. I wipe the table after every meal but the crumbs get stuck in the grooves, which are about the width of the blade of a butter knife. The only way to clean the grooves is with a credit card or a knife blade wrapped in a paper towel. Is there a way to fill in the grooves with dark caulking or something else?

Sounds
painful! Furniture does require cleaning, but it shouldn’t be such
a Herculean task. You could consider buying a beech wood table top
and placing that over your current table. Check this out:

They’re not expensive and are very easy to clean and maintain.

Use placemats....that will cut down on crumbs on the table...
But consider it the price you pay for style....don't cover with a beechwood top nor glass....just bite the bullet and get out the credit card and clean.

We use a very soft baby toothbrush to clean the grooves !!!

You need an old butler's brush and crumb tray, preferably in silver.

I'll have to go with what Jeanette said. Not exactly using a soft baby toothbrush but something very similar to it is also something i've used in the past to get crumbs out of the grooves. It's a bit annoying, but you'll get used to it.

This problem is solvable! Use a canned "air duster" spray, like the kind used to clean keyboards. It will blow the crumbs right out. The straw attachment is particularly helpful.
