Spiders on my windows

I have a beautiful picture window but spiders are attracted to the light and keep it full of webs. I cleaned this completely two days ago and immediately all the spider webs are back. I am contemplating trying the Hunter Davis blackout shades that automatically lower and raise so that when it gets dark they will block the light that attracts the spiders. I am afraid of spending a lot of money and it not working. Do you have any other suggestions?
