do some sort of wall treatment. reclaimed wood, accent color. then some sort of storage. along these lines. (you could do something custom, or store bought, Ikea, etc)

this one is DIY and pretty inexpensive.

Paint thick horizontal stripes. White & another fun color. Make sure the white stripe is where the speakers are. Add art.

Love these colors for playroom.

You could add these bookshelves on one side & fun art on the other side.

for art work you can put up posters of everyone's favorite movie, character or star,as children grow

Leave it as is, it was made for a media setup, the only thing you need a bigger screen. You can also add a low profile wall to wall stand along the bottom.

I would put in some type of open storage cabinetry (cubes with removable baskets would be my choice) for the toys and games used in a playroom. I would also bring the tv down so that it is at eye level to a seated adult...it is much more comfortable to watch tv at that height. Then I would add some framed art or posters for color on both sides of the tv.

Start by lowering the tv a foot for sure. I think tv's are best at eye level when seated in a small room

My first thought was a wall unit where you could get some solid storage below the TV and some open shelves to decorate (and hide) the speakers. But then when I saw how small that space was between the wall and that couch, you could also get away with just a long piece of cabinetry furniture under the TV and hang art work on either side of the TV. Then add a chair with an ottoman and a coffee table.

We have a similar setup, but with a screen coming down. You could get a low cabinet, wall to wall. The subwoofer can be placed in the cabinet where you have an open shelf or doors with a screen

You could go simple and just put in a simple TV console, like you see in our design below.

Well I finally did something with this wall. I didn't have much money to spend on this so I couldn't get too fancy. :(

I found these cabinets at Walmart for about $100 each!

I think I'm going to switch to all baskets with the rope handles at some point. This is tons of toy storage though! I'm still working on organizing the books and decorations but I think it looks okay for the budget I had.

I think I'm going to do movie posters on the wall to the right of the tv (above the play block things)? I think the picture on the left wall might be too big...? I have another spot in the house it can go, though.
