Please help! Do these read country/traditional?

I have been on the fence on making a large investment on dining chairs-upholstered-but have young children and don't this it is practical at this time. I came across these, and I think these would look great in the light gray color against our black dining table. Our table is in our kitchen a bit away from our island. I personally think they look more transitional because the spindles aren't knotty and the clean lines. Advise is welcome.
